THE WORLD'S BIGGEST PROBLEMS

The World’s Biggest Problems portal has a simple, clear mission: educating people all around the world about the biggest problems facing humanity. These problems have two criteria, they must be global in scope, and have the potential to rapidly escalate into severe crises.

  • Economic Collapse : Fragilities in the current global economy could tip the developed world into conditions not seen since the 1920s.

  • Peak Oil : Petroleum has powered the modern world for almost 100 years; today, many industry insiders say that we may be reaching a permanent peak in oil production.

  • Global Water Crisis : Over the last 50 years the human population has nearly tripled, while industrial pollution, unsustainable agriculture, and poor civic planning have decreased the overall water supply.

  • Species Extinction Certain species that human beings depend upon for our food supply are going extinct; if their numbers fall too low we may face extinction ourselves.

  • Rapid Climate Change : While the debate rages on about the causes of climate change, global warming is an empirical fact. The problem is both a curse and blessing, in that people from different cultures will either have to work together or face mutual destruction.

WBP fulfills its role in several ways:

  • Content AggregationWBP utilizes the collective intelligence of its users by allowing them to independantly add content, ensuring that only the most relevant and timely information is pulled to the site.

  • Sophisticated FiltrationThe WBP tagging system filters and sorts information in a way that is natural and intuitive. It allows for users to filter content not only by problem, but also by specific issues within or between problems.

  • Provides ObjectivityIn a world where zero sum advocacy is the norm, WBP offers overviews of all the problems that seek to inform, not persuade, the reader.

  • Gives its Users a Voice: All WBP users can post a personal blog on the site, giving them the ability to share their views with thousands of like minded people from all over the world.

1. Who made us?

God made us.

In the beginning, God created heaven and earth. (Genesis 1:1)

2. Who is God?

God is the Supreme Being, infinitely perfect, who made all things and keeps them in existence.

In him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28)

I. The life of man - to know and love God

1 God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Saviour. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.

2 So that this call should resound throughout the world, Christ sent forth the apostles he had chosen, commissioning them to proclaim the gospel: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."4 Strengthened by this mission, the apostles "went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it."5

3 Those who with God's help have welcomed Christ's call and freely responded to it are urged on by love of Christ to proclaim the Good News everywhere in the world. This treasure, received from the apostles, has been faithfully guarded by their successors. All Christ's faithful are called to hand it on from generation to generation, by professing the faith, by living it in fraternal sharing, and by celebrating it in liturgy and prayer.6

MAYA http://www.latinamericanstudies.org/mayas.htm  2012 December 21 – The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, notably used by the pre-ColumbianMaya civilization among others, completes a "great cycle" of thirteen b'ak'tuns (periods of 144,000 days each) since the mythical creation date of the calendar's current era.

2012: Mayan Prophecy and the Shift of the Ages                                    2009 NR 76 minutes

According to the ancient Mayan calendar, the last day of history will be Dec. 21, 2012. This provocative documentary looks at the doomsday prophecy and the attention it has received -- and asks whether the 2012 date is really about the "end."

Instead, the filmmakers suggest, humankind may be on the verge of a complete transformation in its nature, and 2012 will mark the beginning of a whole new historical cycle.

Summa: New Age interpretation of this transition is that this date marks the start of time in which Earth and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation, and that 2012 may mark the beginning of a new era.[5]

If  Media + History + Predictions = PROPHECY (then we could tell the future)

AGE AFFECTS MEMORY

As we get older the body functions slower unless we keep it active and nurished.

As always: Start Here:: Dr John Christopher:::

http://www.herballegacy.com/Impotency.html

 Counter Impotence

This is another malfunction of the body due to inadequate blood oxygen flow and atherosclerosis (hardening and clogging of arteries) of the penis.

There have been several studies over the last fifteen years to see what effects Ginkgo may have on this disorder.  For example, in 1991 a study published in the Journal of Sex Education and Therapy evaluated the effect of Ginkgo leaf extract in the treatment of erectile dysfunction in fifty patients.  The men diagnosed with arterial erectile impotence received 240 mg of ginkgo leaf extract daily for a period of nine months.  The patients were divided into two groups based on their response to conventional therapies.  Twenty of the patients had previously experienced some success with conventional drug therapies.  The second group had not experienced erection following conventional therapies.  Following treatment with the ginkgo leaf extract, all patients in the first group (twenty men) regained full, sufficient, and spontaneous erections following six months of treatment.  Improvement continued through the nine-month treatment period.  Nineteen of the thirty patients in the second group responded positively to the treatment, while eleven remained impotent.  No side effects were reported in the study.  This was only the second study published on the use of ginkgo leaf extracts in the treatment of impotence.[10] In another study, ultrasound examinations of sixty impotent men who took Ginkgo biloba showed improved penile blood circulation after just six weeks.  After six months, fifty percent of the patients had regained potency.  Studies continue to investigate Ginkgo in the treatment of impotence and the findings are quite satisfactory.

The Gospels of Matthew and Luke were taken from an earlier text that was lost and it might be resurrected by the text that is in common in both. This earlier Gospel is called Q that means source from the German word “quelle.”1

THE SAYINGS OF JESUS

Gospel of Thomas Commentary

Get the CD Now!

This page explores modern interpretations of the Gospel according to Thomas, an ancient text preserved in a Coptic translation at Nag Hammadi and Greek fragments at Oxyrhynchus. With no particular slant, this commentary gathers together quotations from various scholars in order to elucidate the meaning of the sayings, many of which are rightly described as "obscure."
