Health is Easy

"You're not sick; you're thirsty. Don't treat thirst with medication."
Dr. F. Batmanghelidj

You are not just what you eat; you are what you drink.

This is why water is so important to your health.

Dr B believes that water is for health and for healing your body. This is his invaluable public health message.

"We can all change the way we drink – by drinking pure, natural water that is good for our health, our pocket book, and our environment."

No miracles. Just common sense backed by Dr. F. Batmaghelidj’s years of research and investigation into why water works so well in keeping us healthy and pain free. It can even cure illness in some people who get sick.

  1. Water is the basis of all life and that includes your body.
  2. Your muscles that moves you body are 75% water.
  3. Your blood that transport nutrients is 82% water.
  4. Your lungs that provide your oxygen are 90% water.
  5. Your brain that is the control center of your body is 76% water.
  6. Even your bones are 25% water.

Our health is truly dependent on the quality and quantity of the water we drink.

Dr. B's pioneering work shows that Unintentional Chronic Dehydration (UCD) contributes and even produces pain and many degenerative diseases that can be prevented and treated by increasing water intake on a regular basis.

If you are committed to a healthy lifestyle, make drinking enough natural water a habit in you life. It won't take long for you to feel the benefit.

It is a free investment for your long-term health.

The Wonders of Water: Amazing Secrets for Health and Wellness

Water prevents and helps to cure heartburn.

Heartburn is a signal of water shortage in the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract. It is a major thirst signal of the human body.

The use of antacids or tablet medications in the treatment of this pain does not correct dehydration, and the body continues to suffer as a result of its water shortage.

Not recognizing heartburn as a sign of dehydration and treating it with antacids and pill medications will, in time, produce inflammation of the stomach and duodenum, hiatal hernia, ulceration, and eventually cancers in the gastrointestinal tract, including the liver and pancreas.

Water prevents and helps to cure arthritis.

Rheumatoid joint pain - arthritis - is a signal of water shortage in the painful joint. It can affect the young as well as the old.

The use of pain-killers does not cure the problem, but exposes the person to further damage from pain medications.

Intake of water and small amounts of salt will cure this problem.

Water prevents and helps to cure back pain.

Low back pain and ankylosing arthritis of the spine are signs of water shortage in the spinal column and discs.

The water cushions that support the weight of the body.

These conditions should be treated with increased water intake - not a commercial treatment, but a very effective one.

Not recognizing arthritis and low back pain as signs of dehydration in the joint cavities and treating them with pain-killers, manipulation, acupuncture, and eventually surgery will, in time, produce osteoarthritis.

When the cartilage cells in the joints have eventually all died.

It will produce deformity of the spine. It will produce crippling deformities of the limbs. Pain medications have their own life-threatening complications.

Water prevents and helps to cure angina.

Heart pain - angina - is a sign of water shortage in the heart/lung axis.

It should be treated with increased water intake until the patient is free of pain and independent of medications.

Medical supervision is prudent. However, increased water intake is angina's cure.

Water prevents and helps to cure migraines.

Migraine headache is a sign of water need by the brain and the eyes.

It will totally clear up if dehydration is prevented from establishing in the body.

The type of dehydration that causes migraine might eventually cause inflammation of the back of the eye and possibly loss of eye sight.

Water prevents and helps to cure colitis.

Colitis pain is a signal of water shortage in the large gut.

It is associated with constipation because the large intestine constricts to squeeze the last drop of water from the excrements - thus the lack of water lubrication.

Not recognizing colitis pain as a sign of dehydration will cause persistent constipation.

Later in life, it will cause fecal impacting: it can cause diverticulitis, hemorrhoids and polyps, and appreciably increases the possibility of developing cancer of the colon and rectum.

Water and salt prevent and helps to cure asthma.

Asthma, which also affects 14 million children and kills several thousand of them every year.

It is a complication of dehydration in the body.

It is caused by the drought management programs of the body.

In asthma free passage of air is obstructed so that water does not leave the body in the form of vapor - the winter steam.

Increased water intake will prevent asthma attacks. Asthmatics need also to take more salt to break the mucus plugs in the lungs that obstruct the free flow of air in and out of the air sacs.

Not recognizing asthma as the indicator of dehydration in the body of a growing child not only will sentence many thousands of children to die every year.

But it will permit irreversible genetic damage to establish in the remaining 14 million asthmatic children.

Water prevents and helps to cure high blood pressure.

Hypertension is a state of adaptation of the body to a generalized drought, when there is not enough water to fill all the blood vessels that diffuse water into vital cells.

As part of the mechanism of reverse osmosis, when water from the blood serum is filtered and injected into important cells through minute holes in their membranes, extra pressure is needed for the "injection process."

Just as we inject I.V. "water" in hospitals, so the body injects water into tens of trillions of cells all at the same time.

Water and some salt intake will bring blood pressure back to normal!

Not recognizing hypertension as one of the major indicators of dehydration in the human body, and treating it with diuretics that further dehydrate the body will, in time, cause blockage by cholesterol of the heart arteries and the arteries that go to the brain.

It will cause heart attacks and small or massive strokes that paralyze.

It will eventually cause kidney disease.

It will cause brain damage and neurological disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease.

Water prevents and helps to cure early adult-onset diabetes.

Adult-onset diabetes is another adaptive state to severe dehydration of the human body.

To have adequate water in circulation and for the brain's priority water needs, the release of insulin is inhibited to prevent insulin from pushing water into all body cells.

In diabetes, only some cells get survival rations of water.

Water and some salt will reverse adult-onset diabetes in its early stages.

Not recognizing adult-onset diabetes as a complication of dehydration will, in time, cause massive damage to the blood vessels all over the body.

It will cause eventual loss of the toes, feet and legs from gangrene.

It will cause eye damage, even blindness.

Water lowers blood cholesterol.

High cholesterol levels are an indicator of early drought management by the body.

Cholesterol is a clay-like material that is poured in the gaps of some cell membranes to safeguard them against losing their vital water content to the osmotically more powerful blood circulating in their vicinity.

Cholesterol, apart from being used to manufacture nerve cell membranes and hormones, is also used as a "shield" against water taxation of other vital cells that would normally exchange water through their cell membranes.

Water is extremely vitally important

For millions of families in Japan, Korea, Australia and North America, alkaline water is their daily drink. Why are water ionizers so popular? Because they restore to your tap water the same life-giving properties as the mountain water that has kept the Hunza people the longest-lived on the planet: In nature, as streams plunge over rocks, water picks up ionized minerals (electrolytes). Until the advent of large water systems, many people drank naturally ionized water.

RESEARCH OR SEARCHING THE WEB

RESEARCH OR SEARCHING THE WEB

There are millions of Internet sites that have good information about most subjects; but do you want just good information, or the best most reliable, and latest information that science has to offer!

There are several types of information. The best is first hand information which is from the best authority on the subject.

This is someone who has studied all the literature on the subject, and who has the best grasp of the subject and who is recommended by the people who know the subject material.

With empirical knowledge, the best knowledge is obtained from the best eye witness at a scene or location.

It is also the best evidence that the best investigators, with the best instruments can discover.

Usually you can find out the most about a subject by reading the thickest book on the subject. The thickest book is usually the easiest to read. It is also usually the best documented; because it has been written by the authority on the subject.

Researching the subject Headache

If you are interested in learning about headaches; you probably also want to know what causes them and what you need to do to cure them.

Some sites will give you hundreds of articles on the subject that just about all say the same thing.

Others might tell you about what researchers have discovered and what they have published in professional journals.

There are sites that allow everyone to contribute to the subject knowledge, and professional sites that have extensive databases, and research material that they let users access.

A Google search of "Headache" will give you this site: http://health.discovery .com/centers/headaches/pmg/p09.html along with a list of 31.9 million other addresses.

If you search for "Headache triggers," you might come up with a list of about 280 thousand addresses. In that way, you can narrow down your search and discover one of the most important aspects on the subject.

The Wiki "wikiHow" http://www.wikihow.com/Cure-a-Headache gives you a lot of information. veryone can contribuate. The public can be one of the best resources that we have, and editors can make their site the best it can be.

Here is what the first site above gives on the first page.

"Identifying What Triggers Your Headache Is Key to Treatment"

By Rita Mullin

Common headache triggers vary depending on the type of headache and on the individual. A sound or smell that serves as a migraine headache trigger in one person, for example, may have no effect at all on another.

Identifying your common headache triggers can help you avoid headaches or learn to cope with them more effectively. Here are some common headache triggers for the major headache types:

Stress and Headaches
Stress is a trigger for most headaches, says Dr. Jaime Lopez, assistant professor of neurology and neurosurgery at Stanford University School of Medicine and director of the Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring Program at Stanford University Medical Center. Stress can also lead to more serious migraine headaches.

Tension-type headaches result when muscles in the neck shoulders and head tense up, limiting blood flow to the area and building up waste products in the tissues. The end result: pain.

Sleep Disorders and Headaches
Sleep disorders are closely linked with tension, migraine and cluster headaches. Fatigue may cause contractions in the head and neck muscles of tension-type headache sufferers.

Morning headaches or headaches that occur during the night may be related to such underlying sleep disorders as sleep apnea, in which people stop breathing for extended periods, or insomnia.

Changes in sleep patterns — getting too much or too little — can trigger migraines in some people.

Treatment of migraine often includes regular sleep patterns — going to sleep and arising each day at the same time.

Smoking and Headaches
Smoking increases the risk of tension headaches and is a trigger for some migraine sufferers. Many doctors recommend quitting smoking to reduce the risk of headaches.

However, when you look further you will see that it contains a  "Complete Headache Guide." Here is what that first page looks like.

How to Cure a Headache
Don't be a prisoner to your headache
Don't be a prisoner to your headache

There's a lot we don't know about headaches, but this much we know for sure: nobody wants them, and just about everybody gets them. There are several different types of headaches, but this article deals specifically with tension or tension-type headaches, which are by far the most common kind. As with other headache types, the exact cause of tension headaches is not known. Fortunately, though, there are a number of things you can do to get rid of a tension headache.
[edit] Steps

   1.
Contrary to popular belief, Aspirin may not be the best way to get rid of your headache.
Contrary to popular belief, Aspirin may not be the best way to get rid of your headache.
Think twice before taking a painkiller. Over-the-counter (OTC) painkillers (analgesics), such as frequent headaches, even before a headache--there are two major reasons not to do so.
          * Rebound headaches can occur in people who take these medications or others more than 2 or 3 times per week, especially if the person takes the maximum recommended dose (or more) each time they take the drug. As the body develops a tolerance to the medication, headaches begin to worsen and become more frequent, resulting in a cycle of increasing dosages and more frequent medication use.
          * All drugs, including these commonly used OTC medications, have potential side effects, and frequently taking these drugs increases the risk of sometimes serious or life-threatening side effects. Some of these side effects, such as Reyes Syndrome, a potentially fatal disorder which occurs in children who have taken aspirin, can occur after just one dose. Others, such as liver damage from acetaminophen, may develop over long periods of time.
   2. Identify the cause of the headache. Many tension headaches are brought about by some trigger. Headache triggers vary from person to person and even from headache to headache, but common triggers include stress, depression, hunger, dehydration, eye strain (i.e. staring at your computer for a long time), tobacco smoke, alcohol, and certain foods. You can find more exhaustive lists of potential triggers online, but really you only need to know what triggered your headache, and you can often guess this pretty easily. If you get frequent headaches, consider keeping a headache diary to help you identify potential triggers so that you can avoid them.
   3. Remove yourself from the trigger. If you think you know what triggered your headache or, alternately, what's aggravating it, avoid that thing. If it's stress, for example, remove yourself from the stressful situation and try to relax. If the sun's bright light is aggravating your headache, go inside or put on some sunglasses. You can't get away from some triggers, such as a food that you already ate, but you can avoid them in the future.
   4. Relax. Even if your headache isn't necessarily caused by stress, relaxing can help speed up your recovery. Meditate, do some yoga, or try any number of relaxation techniques.
   5. Take a nap. If you can manage to get to sleep, your headache will often be gone when you wake up, and you at least won't have to deal with the pain while you're sleeping. Even just lying down and resting your eyes may be helpful.
   6. Drink some water. Dehydration is a common cause of headaches, and even if you don't feel thirsty, you may well benefit from a glass or two of water.
   7. Drink a cup of coffee. High doses of caffeine can trigger headaches, but lower doses can help relieve them. If taken in conjunction with a painkiller, caffeine can also speed up the medicine's effect, and as a result some painkillers include caffeine. If you're a heavy caffeine or soda drinker, you may experience headaches as part of caffeine withdrawal. A jolt of caffeine will usually help, but in the long run, it's best to break your addiction.
   8. Massage your temples, neck, and face. Scientists used to think that tension in the neck, shoulders, and facial muscles caused tension headaches, but this theory has more recently been called into question. That said, muscle tension and circulation issues may contribute to the headaches, and many people find relief through varying massage methods. Simply applying a little pressure to the most painful area or rubbing your head in that vicinity will sometimes provide temporary relief. Massaging--or having someone else massage--your jaw, neck, and shoulders may cause your headache to disappear, as may applying pressure to the back of your neck with three fingers on each side.
   9. Try some simple reflexology. Reflexology is touted as a treatment for all sorts of ailments, and clinical studies seem to confirm its effectiveness for some, including headaches. Use the thumb and index finger of one hand to apply pressure to the fleshy area between the thumb and index finger of the other hand. Hold this for a minute or two. This doesn't seem to work for everyone, but for some people, this provides immediate relief. The relief may be temporary, or you may get rid of your headache entirely.
  10. Use some ice or heat. Icing the affected area is known to help many migraine sufferers, and some people find it effective for tension headaches, though the pain in tension headaches is usually spread out more than it is in migraines. Applying an ice pack to the back of your neck may also help. Conversely, some people swear by a hot pad placed on one of these areas, and others find a hot shower works wonders.
  11. Consult your doctor or chiropractor if you get frequent, long-lasting, or very severe headaches. Most tension headaches cause mild to moderate pain and go away on their own fairly quickly, even in the absence of treatment. These are known as episodic tension headaches. Chronic tension headaches, on the other hand, can last for days, weeks, or even longer. These often require special treatment and, sometimes, prescription medications. Other types of headaches, including migraine headaches and cluster headaches, can also be longer-lasting and can cause excruciating pain. Finally, it's important to note that frequent or severe headaches may be symptoms of another illness or disorder. If you experience frequent or severe headaches, or headaches that are accompanied by other symptoms, such as nausea, vision problems, or dizziness, talk to your doctor to get an accurate diagnosis and effective treatments.

[edit] Tips

    * If you just get an occasional tension headache, don't be afraid to take a painkiller (unless your doctor tells you otherwise), as these medicines usually provide fast, reliable relief. OTC painkillers are not inherently bad; they can just become bad if you take too much of them, either all at once or over time.
    * If your headaches are frequent, regular and severe, see a Neurologist. There are some prescription medications that work for specific types of headaches (migraines and clusters).
    * Each headache is, in some ways, unique, and a treatment that works for one may not work for the next. In addition something that triggers one headache may not trigger others.
    * If you are seeking natural relief without painkillers, medication, drugs, caffeine, or chemicals, consult your chiropractor. Frequently headaches can be caused by a sublimation's of the upper cervical vertebrae in your neck. This is especially true if your headaches are recurring or lasting longer than a day.
    * You can find a ton of headache remedies on the internet or by asking people you know. Many of these are helpful for at least some people, and if they're safe, there's no reason not to try them if other steps don't work. Use common sense when considering any "home remedy." If it seems like it could cause more harm than good, don't do it without consulting your doctor first. If a treatment makes your headache worse, or if you experience other symptoms, stop the treatment and contact your doctor.
    * Chronic tension headaches can often be treated with lifestyle changes such as stress management, regular exercise, and/or dietary changes. If these regimens don't work, your doctor may prescribe preventive medication to deal with these headaches.
    * If you get a bad headache, eat a little food and watch the telly. Do something to try and forget about it for awhile. It won't be as noticeable when you remember it again.
    * Smiling can work wonders if it's just a minor headache. Smiling takes less muscles than frowning, so even if the reflex is to frown due to pain, smile it off.
    * If painkillers can't help you then consider what you have been doing, identify possible triggers and avoid them.(do this only when you have mild headaches).
    * Sometimes it helps to relieve a headache if you get some sleep, in a quiet, dark room.
    * Take a wet cloth and rub it on your temples(the side of the forehead)

[edit] Warnings

    * This article is a general guide and is not intended to replace professional medical advice.
    * Sudden, severe headaches or headaches that are accompanied by vision problems, difficulty speaking, numbness, or loss of coordination may be a sign of aneurysm, stroke, or other potentially-fatal conditions. Seek emergency medical evaluation and treatment for any unusually severe headache.
    * Follow all medication instructions, and read warning labels carefully for information on correct doses and interactions with other medications or medical conditions.

[edit] Things You'll Need

    * A headache
    * Knuckles
    * A quiet space
    * Aspirin or ibuprofen w/water.
    * Coffee/soda if the headache is caffeine related.
    * A doctor, if things get too tough
    * For a natural approach, a Chiropractor or Osteopathic doctor.

Have a pH level of 7.43.
The body’s acid-alkaline balance is only one of the most important factors in fighting diseases and maintaining good health. Stress, lack of physical activity, a diet high in acidic foods and toxic environmental pollutants can all contribute to a state of acidosis and pave the way for serious health problems down the road. pH Plus™ is a superior product designed to regulate and maintain a proper pH balance in an effective, safe and all natural way.

Proper Acid-Alkaline Balance pH indicates levels of acid in the blood. Measured on a scale of 1 to 14, a pH level of 7.43is optimal. Levels lower than 7.0 indicate an overly acidic state (called acidosis) while levels above 7.5 indicate an overly alkaline state (called alkalosis.). Maintaining a slightly alkaline pH level of 7.43 allows the body’s cells to communicate effectively, a process that is necessary to ensuring that the body continues to function properly. Unfortunately, due to the poor quality of the Standard American Diet and our hectic lifestyles, most people in the US suffer from a state of acidosis which when left untreated, can lead to a hose of health problems ranging from weight gain and allergies to heart disease, diabetes and even cancer.

The Problem with Chronic Acidosis Acidosis begins when the body cannot properly dispose of excessive acids building up in the bloodstream. The body attempts to restore proper pH balance by eliminating and neutralizing the acids, buy excess waste overwhelms the system, polluting the blood and impairing the ability of the body’s cells to communicate properly. In an effort to protect vital organs, the body divert the harmful acids to tissues, joints and bones where it can be stored. Temporarily, the organs are safe, but the diversion can cause joint and skeletal problems such as Osteo – and rheumatoid arthritis, skin conditions such as dermatitis and eczema and tissue problems such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. As with any quick fix, however, the diversion is only temporary.

Over time, the acids eventually make their way to the organs where they begin to wreak havoc and produce more waste, further lowering the body’s pH level. The decreased pH level floods the body with more dangerous acids and the problem becomes even more severe. Left untreated the body’s cell walls harden and solidify causing them to eventually die off, a process which leads to decay of the tissues and organs. The body’s state of acidosis is a prime breeding ground for pathogens such as bacteria, fungi, molds and parasites, which feed off the diseased tissues and organs. Acidosis literally destroys the body from the inside out, paving the way for disease to take over.

Common symptoms of acidosis include:
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Bleeding or inflamed gums
  • Poor Circulation
  • Joint Pain
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Joint Pain

Damaged cells lead to calcium loss and suboptimal cell function, health and longevity. The tons of Cesium and Rubidium in pH Plus in proper amounts increases cellular pH levels. Improved pH can reduce the excretion of calcium needs and can help lower sodium levels. Adding pH Plus to your diet helps to create a pH balanced environment at the cellular level, to support long term health.

Fruits Vegetables Nuts Seeds and Grains

    Healthy Foods

    Vegetables:

Vegetables should be a vital part of your daily diet.  Ideally these are chosen from what is grown organically in your local area.  Serve vegetables with grains for complete nourishment.  In general grains build and vegetables cleanse the body of toxins and purify and renew the blood.  The combination is healing and soothing.

Raw vegetables in their natural state are invaluable for their nutrition.  Properly cooked over 90% of their nutrients can be preserved.  It's important to avoid overcooking and excessive boiling.  Keep vegetables covered while cooking.  Leave them unpeeled and wash in cold water.  Scrub root vegetables lightly because the vitamins are close to the skin.

Tomatoes are loaded with vitamin A and C, and lycopene, which is the substance that makes tomatoes red.  Lycopene is being researched to lower lung cancer risks.  Smokers and non-smokers both seem to respond beneficially.

Asparagus treats many types of kidney problems, helps to cleanse arteries of cholesterol and is useful in vascular problems such as hypertension and arteriosclerosis.  However, too much asparagus may irritate your kidneys.

Sprouts are vegetables at the greatest point of vitality.  During sprouting vitamins and enzyme content increases dramatically at the same time starch is converted into simple sugars, protein is turned into amino acids and peptones, and crude fat is broken down into free fatty acids.

Many of us enjoy raw sprouts on a sandwich but try them lightly steamed or sautéed.

To make fresh sprouts, use one part seed to at least three parts water.  Soak the seeds in a wide mouthed jar, half gallon or larger, for one quart of ready sprouts.

Cover the jar with a sprouting screen or cheesecloth and secure with a rubber band.  After soaking, drain well and keep in a warm (65 degree) dark place or cover with a cloth or bag.  Rinse two times per day (four times for soybeans) and drain well.  After three days place alfalfa, red clover, radish and mustard sprouts in a cool place with indirect sunlight to induce chlorophyll.  To remove loose hulls, place in a large bowl of water and agitate.  Gently reach under the sprouts, lift them out and drain.  If refrigerated they will keep up to one week in a plastic bag or covered glass jar.

Alfalfa is more nutritionally concentrated than other sprouts because of its rich mineralization.  Roots can reach down 100 feet into the earth where it has access to minerals and trace elements untouched by other plants.  Alfalfa benefits the urinary system and intestines, and detoxifies the body.  It contains eight enzymes that help assimilate protein, fats and carbohydrates.

Sea Vegetables (seaweeds) are classified by colors:  red, brown, green, blue green and yellow green.  The colors, light exposure, depth, temperature, tides and seashores in which they grow correspond to the distribution of nutrients and variety.

Sea plants contain ten to twenty times the minerals of land plants and an abundance of vitamins and other elements necessary for our metabolism.  They are an excellent source of food and medicine.  Certain sea vegetables actually remove radioactive and toxic metal wastes from the body.  In addition, they are a wealth of iodine, calcium and iron.

For instance, kelp moistens dryness, softens hardened areas and masses in the body, benefits kidneys, is a diuretic, anti-coagulant, natural fungicide, and relieves hormone imbalances and more.  Kelp greatly increases nutritional values of all food prepared with it as it is considered the most completely mineralized food.  It is excellent added to beans since the minerals help to balance protein and oils and increase digestibility.

    Fruits:

Fruit contains valuable minerals, vitamins, enzymes and fiber.  It is easily digested and most are alkalizing, cleansing and balances overuse of rich foods particularly those of concentrated proteins.  The alkaline element combined with its acids stimulates the liver and pancreas.  Let's look at the health benefits of some fruits for examples.

Apples produce fluids for your body.  They particularly moisten dryness of the lungs, protects the lungs from cigarette smoke, stimulate the appetite and remedies indigestion.

Avocados build the blood, harmonize the liver, and lubricate the lungs and intestines.  They are a natural source of lecithin, which is a brain food.  More than 80% of the caloric content is easily digested fat in the form of monounsaturated oils.  They are rich in copper, which aids in red blood cell formation, and are a nutritious protein source.

Purple grape juice offers most of the same benefits for the heart as red wine but the moderate level of alcohol in red wine does offer one more apparent benefit:  It increases HDL, the good cholesterol.

Reservatrol, another constituent of grapes, has demonstrated anti-cancer and chemopreventative activity, and may also protect and maintain brain and nerve health.

    Legumes:

Legumes are beans, peas and lentils.  Each has high protein content.  This protein can help regulate sugar, water and other aspects of metabolism.  They are also high in fat and carbohydrate and rich in potassium, calcium, iron and several B vitamins. Sprouted legumes are an excellent source of vitamin C and enzymes.

Soy, as an example of legumes, is full of beneficial nutrients.  It contains plenty of protein, both soluble fiber, which is good for your heart, and insoluble fiber, which speeds intestinal elimination, as well as a wealth of vitamins and minerals including B vitamins, calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc.  It also has an abundance of phytochemicals such as flavonoids, phytates, phytosterols, polyphenols, terpenes and saponins.  Soy has anticancer characteristics, too, and may very well prevent breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men.  Soy also seems to slow benign prostate enlargement.  Research is ongoing in the area of menopausal symptoms relieved by soy isoflavones, in one experiment relief from hot flashes was seen in as little as two weeks.

Soy is considered a low-fat, no-cholesterol food that can also help fight heart disease.  It can also potentially slow osteoporosis, a disease of aging, which weakens bones, due to the fact that soy offers abundant calcium in a form the body readily absorbs.

Soy drinks, soy beans, tofu, soy sauce, tempeh, miso, soy oil, soymilk, soy flour and textured soy protein are good ways to get your soy.

    Nuts and Seeds:

Nuts and seeds are fatty foods, which are typically the best sources of vitamin E, an immune enhancing antioxidant and nerve protector. They contain the largest quantity of fat of all unprocessed foods but much of it is in the form of essential fatty acids. Vitamins, minerals, amino acids, carbohydrates, and others are just a part of their remarkable properties. Looked at in total, nuts and seeds are the "spark of life, a living and perfect food". They are best consumed in small amounts. Most tonify the body and add weight and strength.

Here's the catch. Nuts and seeds lose their nutrients and become rancid once hulled or shelled. Deterioration begins immediately. Only buy them in their shells. They will last up to one year. Store hulled seeds in dark glass bottles in cold places since oil rich foods, such as seeds, combine with plastic to form plasticides.

Polyunsaturated oil contains essential fatty acids, which our bodies cannot provide.  There are three essential fatty acids - linoleic, alpha-linolenic, and arachidonic acid.  The latter most people have in excess from eating animal products.

Linoleic and arachidonic acids are "omega-6" fatty acids and encourage blood clot formation.  Alpha-linolenic acid,"omega-3" oil, reduces clotting.  The objective is to achieve a balance between omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.

Essential fatty acids promote healthy, youthful skin and hair, support proper thyroid and adrenal function bolstering immunity, promote healthy blood, nerves and arteries, and are crucial in the transport and breakdown of cholesterol.

Deficiencies can lead to skin disorders, dry hair, loss of hair, nail problems, gallstones, irritability, liver problems, varicose veins, susceptibility to infections and retarded growth, among other problems.

With our heavy use of vegetable oils it would seem a lack of essential fatty acids would seldom occur, but most oils contain rancid forms of these fatty acids.  Polyunsaturated oils easily oxidize and turn rancid creating free radicals in the body that fosters aging and weakened immunity.  However, when polyunsaturates are eaten as whole, unprocessed food they are preserved within the food and are the freshest, most beneficial form, with the correct balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.  Nuts and seeds are the highest sources.  Some other sources are avocados, olives, and soybeans.

    Whole grains:

When whole grains are complemented with a good variety of other unrefined food plants, all the elements for nutrition are available.  Grains satisfy hunger and taste, provide energy and endurance, calm nerves, and encourage deep sleep.  They promote elimination, quick reflexes, long memory, and clear thinking.  Whole grains, along with legumes and vegetables, are commonly called complex carbohydrates.  The digestion of these whole food complex carbohydrates gives a harmonious, steady, balanced metabolism providing complete nutrients.  Unlike highly refined, nutrient deficient grains (refined rice, breads, cereals, etc.) and sugars, which give you a rush followed by depression.  Complex carbohydrates are lacking in our modern diet more than any other item.

Whole wheat is a rich source of vitamin E, one of the most powerful antioxidants that occur in food.  It contains zinc, which is essential for over 200 biological enzymes and critical for normal hormonal levels and a healthy immune system. Magnesium, a must in over 300 enzyme activities - especially the production of ATP which helps supply energy to every part of the body - when added with the calcium inherent in whole wheat, is 16 times more effective at promoting bone density than calcium alone.

Whole wheat reduces estrogen levels in the blood stream and helps to normalize cell regeneration. It also contains necessary dietary fiber, folic acid, chromium, B vitamins and phytochemicals.

Amaranth is consumed in areas of Africa and Latin America.  There is no malnutrition there. It has a high nutritional value and is able to thrive in poor soils and drought conditions. Amaranth can be used to help fulfill protein and calcium requirements. It is also rich in lysine, an amino acid low in wheat and most other grains. Amaranth is high in fiber, protein, amino acids (lysine and methionine), vitamin C, calcium, magnesium and silicon. It benefits the lungs.

Use amaranth in breads, cakes, soups and grain dishes. You can pop it like popcorn, toast it for a nutty flavor, or sprout it to use in sandwiches or salads.

Barley has a sweet and salty flavor.  It regulates the stomach, fortifies the intestines, strengthens the spleen-pancreas, builds the blood, moistens dryness and benefits the gall bladder and nerves.

"Sproutable" barley is mildly laxative and much more nutritious than "pearl" barley - more fiber, twice the calcium, three times the iron and 25% more protein. Barley tea is also a coffee substitute.

Buckwheat has a sweet flavor.  It cleans and strengthens the intestines and improves the appetite. It contains rutin, a bioflavonoid that strengthens capillaries and blood vessels, inhibits hemorrhages, reduces blood pressure and increases circulation to the hands and feet.  It tastes absolutely wonderful in pancakes!

Rice expels toxins, strengthens the spleen-pancreas, soothes the stomach, and is hypoallergenic. Whole brown rice is rich in B vitamins and therefore benefits the nervous system and helps relieve mental depression.

Short grain rice has a nuttier flavor and chewier consistency. Whole grain basmati rice is slightly aromatic and is lighter than other rice. Sweet rice is rich in gluten and contains more protein and fat than other rice. Wild rice is not true rice but has a sweet and bitter flavor and benefits the kidneys and bladder.

Other whole grains you may want to look into that have excellent nutritional and healing abilities are millet, oats, quinoa, rye, and spelt.

Bread is the major medium for the consumption of grain in America. For people to adapt to grain in its whole, un-milled seed state is not practical, nor necessary. The milling of grain causes some loss of nutrients but at the same time natural leavening contributes more vitamins and enzymes through the action of beneficial fermentation. It's important to find or make bread that is naturally leavened. This makes it light and totally digestible.

Commercially yeasted breads, even the whole grain varieties, typically contain flour bleach, which forms alloxan, a compound known to cause diabetes in animals by destroying the beta cells of the pancreas.  Flour bleach does more than bleach. It acts chemically to soften and age flour, and to repel insects.

Some natural leavening agents are sourdough from a culture, miso, rejuvelac, and fermented cooked grains.

    Salt:

The controversy over salt has raged for decades.  Studies have shown salt to be a true culprit. However, the salt being tested is the refined, chemical variety that is 99.5% sodium chloride, with additions of anti-caking chemicals, potassium iodide and sugar (dextrose to stabilize the iodine). Not the whole salt used for a millennia. The denaturing of whole salt should remind us of refined sugar and white bread.

The advent of chemical farming and food processing since World War II, the soil and food of much of the world, have been depleted of minerals and other nutrients. Our food, animal or vegetable, is also full of pollutants and farm chemicals. Minerals are a basis for the formation of vitamins, enzymes and proteins. A craving for salt is quite possibly a craving for the many minerals lacking in chemically grown food.

Salt has many benefits to our bodies - clarifying, alkalizing, purifying - but there is also great potential for misuse. Salt intake should be limited to about 3,000 mg, about 2/3 of a teaspoon, per day. The average American consumes about 17,000 mg, about 3-1/2 teaspoons, per day mostly unintentionally from eating refined foods.

    Water, Tea & Honey:

The amount of water in your diet will significantly influence your long-term health. In cases of a healthy diet, most people can listen to the wisdom of their bodies and drink according to their thirst. Vegetables and fruits are generally 90% water and most grains and legumes are more than 80% water when cooked.

Those of us on a rich meat or salty foods diet usually have insufficient body fluids and should drink eight glasses of water per day. Insufficient water consumption causes toxicity, constipation, tension, tightness, overeating, dryness and kidney damage. Fluoridated water suppresses thyroid activity and chlorinated water destroys vitamin E.

Water is best consumed at least 30 minutes before and one hour after meals. Otherwise digestive enzymes and secretions are diluted and food nutrients are not effectively extracted. If you feel you need to drink something with your meal have only a few ounces of warm water, tea or an herbal tea.

Tea is believed by researchers to have potential health benefits including cancer prevention, cardiovascular assistance, antiviral action and life extension. The components in tea believed responsible for these benefits are the powerful antioxidants called catechins as well as flavonoids. Green tea contains a higher percentage of catechins than black tea.

Honey is valued for its many healing properties. Treatment with honey is called "apitherapy" and is used to replenish energy, enhance physical stamina and strengthening after illness. Honey can help calm, promote rejuvenating sleep, relieve indigestion and is used to treat respiratory ailments and cardiovascular disease. Simple sugars, glucose, and fructose, predigested by bees, are quickly and easily absorbed in our digestive tracts. This provides us with a quick pick-me-up and yet has an overall calming effect.  Other ingredients in honey are water, pollen, organic acids, enzymes and various proteins. Since honey contains pollen, eating honey harvested locally is thought to be useful for the relief of hay fever. Additionally, the germ killing substance in honey, inhibine, helps prevent infections in minor wounds. Spread a thin layer over the wound and cover with a sterile bandage.

If you're following along in the sequence as I am offering it page to page, the next part delves into the top three killer diseases and how they can be prevented, at least in part, through sound nutrition - heart disease, cancer and stroke.  We will also look at blood pressure, blood flow, and digestion.  Note:  Please be advised that some examples of diseases given in the next two parts are rather shocking and graphic in nature.

But first, let's take a look at the nutrients your body needs...

    N A T T O

(NaturalNews) Studies have confirmed that an enzyme present in a Japanese fermented soy food is effective in lowering blood pressure and dissolving clots. The food, natto, has been eaten by the Japanese for 1,000 years because of its taste and also as a remedy for heart and vascular diseases. No problems have been identified with its use.

The enzyme, nattokinase, is present in natto, a fermented cheese-like food which is produced by adding the beneficial bacteria Bacillus natto to boiled soybeans. Nattokinase, literally "enzyme in natto", was discovered in 1980 by Doctor Hiroyuki Sumi, who was researching natural substances which could dissolve blood clots associated with heart attacks and stroke. Its properties closely resemble plasmin, an enzyme produced by the human body which breaks down such blood clots.

Besides its ability to dissolve clots, nattokinase has other advantages over the traditional clot-dissolving drugs, such as activase, urokinase, and streptokinase. It can be taken orally instead of intravenously and its effects last longer - eight to ten hours longer. This is because the intravenous drugs wear off shortly after their administration to the person is stopped. In addition, this enzyme acts to enhance the production of the body’s natural clot-busting substances like plasmin, adding to its power.

Researchers were able to monitor various substances in the blood which changed in level after the patient consumed the nattokinase. These changes were beneficial to vascular health. Nattokinase does all this with no evident side effects. Studies done in Japan have confirmed findings that nattokinase works at least partially by inhibiting other enzymes in the body which constrict blood vessels and thus raise blood pressure.

Both the food form, natto, and the extract, nattokinase, have been studied and both seem to have similar effects. Research was carried out in animals, humans and Petri dishes, and none of it has shown a downside to natto.

The discovery of a natural blood clot dissolver which also strengthens the body’s health-enhancing enzymes promises to give users added protection from more than one disease. Its use could help prevent cerebral hemorrhage, stroke, heart attack and angina pectoris, as well as diseases caused by blood vessels with lowered flexibility. These include senile dementia and diabetes. Hemorrhoids are considered a local thrombotic (obstructive blood clot) condition.

If chronic diseases of the capillaries are also considered, then the number of thrombus related conditions may be much higher. Some sources also claim it can prevent cancer, osteoporosis and obesity. Other claims state that natto is high in B-12, making it an important food for vegans and vegetarians. It is also low in cholesterol.

Though natto is very popular in parts of Japan, westerners may be taken aback by its odor and stickiness. To make it more palatable, it is often mixed with soy sauce, green onions and a raw egg over a bowl of hot rice. Recipes are available on the internet.

Natto is sold frozen in packs of single-serving Styrofoam containers in Japanese grocery stores. It is also available online from Japanese food outlets. Hopefully it will increase in popularity once its health benefits are known and will start appearing next to the Miso and Kimchi on regular grocery store freezer shelves. Nattokinase can be found in health food and supplement stores.

Stop Acid Reflux with Two Natural Supplements

Acid reflux has become epidemic in the world today. Many people who have relied on drugs to treat this condition in the past are realizing that drugs are far too expensive and have myriad harmful side effects. More and more acid reflux sufferers are discovering natural ways to address this condition. With a few simple changes in lifestyle and a couple of natural supplements one can jump start efforts to live a more healthy digestive life.
Many people approach the treatment of acid reflux like the quest for the Holy Grail. They become so bogged down with different opinions that they become confused and give up. When they do, they tend to rely on the convenience of drugs to treat the symptoms of acid reflux rather than to seek a cure.

Our culture has become far too dependent on pharmaceuticals to treat the symptoms of illnesses. Drugs certainly have their place, but there are also natural ways to treat, if not cure disease. It would seem that the medical community, at large, is more concerned with the treatment of symptoms than the elimination of disease itself.

There are three classifications of drugs which treat acid reflux. The first of these is antacids, which neutralize the acid in your stomach and are at best only a temporary fix. They are loaded with harmful ingredients such as sodium and aluminum. The next group of drugs is called H2 Blockers. They reduce the amount of acid that the stomach produces and provide longer lasting relief than antacids. Finally there are the PPI drugs (proton pump inhibitors), which shut off the proton pumps in the stomach that manufacture hydrochloric acid.

PPI drugs are the most commonly prescribed pharmaceuticals for the acid reflux condition. These drugs, in my opinion, which actually stop the production of stomach acid, are quite dangerous. Obviously, our bodies were designed to produce stomach acid for a specific purpose. Stomach acid is necessary to break down, digest and assimilate food. Without proper digestion and assimilation, our bodies cannot work as they were designed to. I believe that most people who pop those PPI drugs are walking around in a state of malnutrition.

Sometimes we overlook the reality of a negative situation by choosing convenience over common sense. The simple and natural way is usually the best way to go. Two inexpensive supplements, when taken together, can alleviate most acid reflux symptoms, in time. These supplements are probiotics and digestive enzymes. Wouldn’t it be wiser to take two capsules containing natural ingredients rather than drugs? Drugs are expensive and most have dangerous side effects.

Probiotics are beneficial microbes which protect the digestive tract by keeping the natural flora in balance. The most well known is lactobacillus acidophilus, which is found in yogurt and in supplement form.

A good probiotic should contain at least five billion live microorganisms per capsule. The ideal composition should include L. acidophilus, L rhamnosus, S. thermophilus and L. bulgaricus. These are considered "friendly bacteria". They are of great benefit to the health of the colon and to the immune system, in general. Taken in conjunction with digestive enzymes, they balance the digestive system and reduce the possibility of acid reflux.

Digestive enzymes, which are normally secreted by different glands in the digestive system, help to break down food molecules into smaller particles in order to aid digestion. Each enzyme has a specific function related to different elements of food. For example: lactase breaks down lactose (milk sugars), protease and pepsin break down proteins and diatase digests vegetable starch.

Those who suffer from acid reflux usually need more digestive enzymes than their bodies produce. A good digestive enzyme supplement should contain protease, amylase, lipase, cellulase, diastase, invertase, lactase, pectinase and alpha galactosidase. Just ask for a full spectrum product.

In addition to these supplements aiding the digestive process, they are also beneficial in treating allergies and skin problems. When the digestive system is functioning properly, our bodies become more alkaline. Many believe that disease cannot exist in an alkaline environment.

In treating acid reflux, you might also consider drinking at least eight glasses of water each day - more won't hurt. Water hydrates the body and flushes out the toxins that we collect on a daily basis. Do not drink anything with a meal as it dilutes stomach acid and the body produces more to compensate.

Eat raw vegetables as often as possible. Munch on them as snacks or appetizers before a main meal. Eat fruit and nuts for breakfast and a salad for lunch. These foods are easy to digest. The less strain we place on the digestive system, the more energy we will have and the healthier we will be.

Refrain from lying down too soon after a meal. You should allow at least two hours before doing so. Take a walk instead. Walk for thirty minutes each day. Aerobic exercise is essential for the over all health of the body. It encourages a healthy digestive system.

Chew gum between and after meals. Chewing produces saliva, which is alkaline in nature and counteracts the over production of acid. Try to eat slowly in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Stress is a major cause of poor digestion and ill-health in general. There are many small things you can do to avoid acid reflux. Let common sense be your guide.

By taking responsibility for your health and making a few little changes in life style, you can avoid a problem like acid reflux before it evolves into a more serious medical issue. Supplements like probiotics and digestive enzymes will give you a jump start and get you on your way to better digestive health.

MEDITATION THE SECRET OF SECRETS VOL2 The spirit returns and touches heaven

MASTER LU-TSU SAID: NOW THERE ARE THREE CONFIRMATORY EXPERIENCES WHICH CAN BE TESTED.

THE FIRST IS THAT, WHEN ONE HAS ENTERED THE STATE OF MEDITATION, THE ANGELS ARE IN THE VALLEY. MEN ARE HEARD TALKING AS THOUGH AT A DISTANCE OF SEVERAL HUNDRED PACES, EACH ONE QUITE CLEAR. BUT THE SOUNDS ARE ALL LIKE AN ECHO IN A VALLEY. ONE CAN ALWAYS HEAR THEM, BUT NEVER ONESELF. THIS IS CALLED: 'THE PRESENCE OF THE ANGELS IN THE VALLEY.' AT TIMES THE FOLLOWING CAN BE EXPERIENCED: AS SOON AS ONE IS QUIET, THE LIGHT OF THE EYES BEGINS TO BLAZE UP, SO THAT EVERYTHING BEFORE ONE BECOMES QUITE BRIGHT AS IF ONE WERE IN A CLOUD. IF ONE OPENS ONE'S EYES AND SEEKS THE BODY, IT IS NOT TO BE FOUND ANY MORE. THIS IS CALLED: 'IN THE EMPTY CHAMBER IT GROWS LIGHT'. INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, EVERYTHING IS EQUALLY LIGHT. THAT IS A VERY FAVORABLE SIGN. OR, WHEN ONE SITS IN MEDITATION, THE FLESHLY BODY BECOMES QUITE SHINING LIKE SILK OR JADE. IT SEEMS DIFFICULT TO REMAIN SITTING: ONE FEELS AS IF DRAWN UPWARD. THIS IS CALLED: 'THE SPIRIT RETURNS AND TOUCHES HEAVEN'.

IN TIME, ONE CAN EXPERIENCE IT IN SUCH A WAY THAT ONE REALLY FLOATS UPWARD. AND NOW, IT IS ALREADY POSSIBLE TO HAVE ALL THREE OF THESE EXPERIENCES. BUT NOT EVERYTHING CAN BE EXPRESSED. DIFFERENT THINGS APPEAR TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DISPOSITION. IF ONE EXPERIENCES THESE THINGS, IT IS A SIGN OF A GOOD APTITUDE. WITH THESE THINGS IT IS JUST AS IT IS WHEN ONE DRINKS WATER: ONE CAN TELL FOR ONESELF WHETHER THE WATER IS WARM OR COLD.

IN THE SAME WAY A MAN MUST CONVINCE HIMSELF ABOUT THESE EXPERIENCES, THEN ONLY ARE THEY REAL.

MASTER LU-TSU SAID: WHEN THERE IS A GRADUAL SUCCESS IN PRODUCING THE CIRCULATION OF THE LIGHT, A MAN MUST NOT GIVE UP HIS ORDINARY OCCUPATION IN DOING IT. THE ANCIENTS SAID: WHEN OCCUPATIONS COME TO US, WE MUST ACCEPT THEM; WHEN THINGS COME TO US, WE MUST UNDERSTAND THEM FROM THE GROUND UP. IF THE OCCUPATIONS ARE PROPERLY HANDLED BY CORRECT THOUGHTS, THE LIGHT IS NOT SCATTERED BY OUTSIDE THINGS, BUT CIRCULATES ACCORDING TO ITS OWN LAW.

EVEN THE STILL INVISIBLE CIRCULATION OF THE LIGHT GETS STARTED THIS WAY; HOW MUCH MORE, THEN, IS IT THE CASE WITH THE TRUE CIRCULATION OF THE LIGHT WHICH HAS ALREADY MANIFESTED ITSELF CLEARLY. WHEN IN ORDINARY LIFE ONE HAS THE ABILITY ALWAYS TO REACT TO THINGS BY REFLEXES ONLY, WITHOUT ANY ADMIXTURE OF A THOUGHT OF OTHERS OR OF ONESELF, THAT IS A CIRCULATION OF THE LIGHT ARISING OUT OF CIRCUMSTANCES.

THIS IS THE FIRST SECRET. IF EARLY IN THE MORNING, ONE CAN RID ONESELF OF ALL ENTANGLEMENTS AND MEDITATE FROM ONE TO TWO DOUBLE HOURS, AND THEN CAN ORIENTATE ONESELF TOWARDS ALL ACTIVITIES AND OUTSIDE THINGS IN A PURELY OBJECTIVE, REFLEX WAY, AND IF THIS CAN BE CONTINUED WITHOUT ANY INTERRUPTION, THEN AFTER TWO OR THREE MONTHS ALL THE PERFECTED ONES COME FROM HEAVEN AND APPROVE SUCH BEHAVIOR. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL MORNING.

It must have been a morning like this. The breeze was cool and full of the sweet smell of the wet earth. The birds were singing and the sun was rising on the horizon. The dewdrops were shining on the grass leaves like pearls. It is always beautiful; all that is needed is eyes to see it. The birds are there, singing every morning, but who is there to listen? And the trees are blooming, but who is there to appreciate?

The aesthetic heart is absent, only the calculating mind is functioning. Hence you live in an ugly world. I am relating to you an ancient story. Gautam Buddha's sannyasins were meditating under the mango trees... Morning is the best time to meditate. After the whole night's rest you are very close to the center of your being. It is easier to move into the center consciously early in the morning than at any other time -- because for the whole night you have been there at the center, you have just left it.

The world of a thousand and one things has not yet arisen. You are just on the way, moving towards things, moving into the outside world, but the inner center is very close, around the comer. Just a turning of the head, and you will be able to see that which is: truth, God, enlightenment.

You will be able to see that into which you had gone when dreams had stopped and sleep was profound, but then you were unconscious. Deep sleep rejuvenates because, although unconsciously, you enter into the core of your being -- but you still enter. All the tiredness of the outside world is taken away, and all the wounds are healed, and all the dust disappears.

You have taken a bath, you have dived deep into your own being. That's why Patanjali says: Deep, dreamless sleep is almost like SAMADHI -- but almost, not exactly SAMADHI. What is the difference? It is very small -- or very great -- but this much difference is there: in sleep you are unconscious, in SAMADHI you are conscious; but the space is the same.

So in the morning when you have just awakened and you are very close to the center... Soon the periphery will take you, will possess you; you will have to go into the world of occupations. Before you go into that external journey, have a look, so that consciously you can see who you are.

This is what meditation is all about. Hence, down the ages, the morning, early morning, when the earth is awakening and the trees are awakening and the birds are awakening and the sun is awakening, when the whole atmosphere is full of awakening, you can use this situation.

You can ride on this tide of awakening and you can enter into your own being, awake, alert, aware. And your whole life will be transformed. And your whole day will be transformed because then you will have a different orientation.

Then you can go into the marketplace and still you will remain in contact with your inner core. And that is the greatest secret, the Secret of the Golden Flower. ... Buddha's sannyasins were meditating under the mango trees that morning... As you have gathered around me, thousands had gathered around Buddha.

There was nothing else to learn other than to meditate. Buddhas don't teach, they only share. They don't give you a doctrine, they certainly give you a discipline. They don't give you beliefs, they certainly give you a taste of trust. And just a drop of the taste of trust and life is transmuted. And to connect with an awakened being, the only way is to become a little bit awakened on your own part too, because the like can meet the like.

To be with a Buddha is to be a little bit more alert than life generally requires you to be. Life wants you to be automatic, robot-like. When you go to a Master, he requires that you drop your automatism, that you de-automatize yourself, that you become a little more alert, that you don't go on looking at things but also remember your being. ... Buddha's disciples were meditating -- such a beautiful morning is not to be missed...

And when birds are praising the morning sun, you have also to praise God. And when trees are swaying in the wind, you have also to participate in this eternal dance, you have also to celebrate. Another day is born -- forget the past, die to the past, be born anew. ... Buddha had a disciple named Subhuti.

Buddha was a very fortunate Master: he had TREMENDOUSLY potential disciples. A few of them were really rare beings. Subhuti is one of those rare beings who was just on the verge of Buddhahood. Just one step more and he would be a Buddha. He was coming home, every moment coming home, closer and closer to the center where ego disappears and God is born, where you die and the whole is born, when the part disappears into the whole, when the cosmos takes place and then you are no more a separate entity, trembling, afraid of death.

Then you are part of this eternal play of existence. He was just on the verge. He was one of the MOST silent of Buddha's disciples. He was so silent that the scriptures say that he had almost become absent. He would come and nobody would take note of him. He would pass and nobody would become aware that he had passed. He was a very silent breeze...

Ordinarily you want to be noticed. If you are not noticed, you feel hurt. You want attention. WHO wants attention? Attention is the requirement of the ego, the ego feeds on it. So if attention is not given to you -- if you come and nobody notices you, you pass and nobody says, "Good morning. How are you?" as if you had not passed -- you will feel wounded. You will start thinking, "So, I am thought to be a nobody, and I will show these people who I am."

The ego always hankers for attention. ... Subhuti was so silent. his desire for attention had disappeared. And the moment desire for attention disappears, all politics disappears from your being. Then you are religious. Then you are perfectly at home with your nobodiness. Then you live a totally different life. Then you live so silently that you don't make any fuss, that you don't make any ripples, that you come and you go as if you had never come and you had never gone.

He was, and yet he was not... In fact, the moment you REALLY are, you drop all ideas of your ego. People carry the idea of the ego because they are not. Try to understand this paradox. Those who are not, they brag about themselves. They HAVE to brag, they have to prove to the world, they are constantly performing. They know if they don't perform they are nobodies.

They have to perform, they have to shout, they have to make noise, they have to force others to take note of them. Adolf Hitlers and Genghis Khans and Tamburlaines and all the stupid lot of politicians down the ages -- all that they have been doing is to make more and more people take note of them.

These are the people who are not. The people who are are so contented with their being; who cares whether anybody takes note or not? They are so much to themselves, enough unto themselves. So this is the paradox: the man who is not tries, pretends that he is much, somebody special, and the man who is pretends not, brags not, becomes a very silent existence. ...

He existed as an absence... And only in absence does real presence arise; the person disappears but presence arises. ... He had melted slowly and disappeared as a person... And when that happens, when that miracle happens, the very absence becomes a radiant presence. ... Subhuti was also sitting under a tree, not even meditating. Others were meditating, he was simply sitting there doing nothing. That is the HIGHEST form of meditation...

To DO meditation is to be just a beginner. The beginner has to DO the meditation. But one who has understood meditation cannot even think in terms of doing, because the moment you do something you are stirred. The moment you do something you are tense. The moment you do something the ego enters again from the back door -- because with the doing comes the doer.

Meditation is a state of non-doing. Certainly in the beginning one has to do, but slowly slowly as meditation deepens, understanding arises, doing disappears. Then meditation is being, not doing. more.... click here Philcut, We welcome your input and appreciate your support. Why Are Magnesium And Vitamin B6 Good For Kidney Stones Prevention?

Magnesium and vitamin B6 are good for kidney stones prevention because both are used by the body to convert oxalate into other substances.

Deficiency in vitamin B6 can lead to an increase in kidney stones in kidney stone sufferers, due to high urinary oxalate levels.

Vitamin B6 is also known to lower high urinary oxalate levels in kidney stone sufferers whether they are deficient in vitamin B6 or not.

Trials have shown that taking both vitamin B6 and magnesium can reduce the risk of forming kidney stones in kidney stone sufferers.

How Much Magnesium And Vitamin B6 Do You Need To Take For Kidney Stones Prevention?

For kidney stones prevention, try taking 100-200 mg of vitamin B6 and 200 mg of magnesium supplements per day with meals.

It is best to take magnesium supplements in the form of magnesium citrate, as citrate itself can help to reduce the formation of kidney stones.

Note: as with all supplements, please consult your doctor before taking vitamin B6 and magnesium.

Do not take more than 100 mg of vitamin B6 per day if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

    So, to sum up!

Magnesium is an essential mineral and vitamin B6 is a water soluble vitamin.

Clinical trials have shown that taking both in supplement form is good for kidney stones prevention.
